Stress Reduction with Biofeedback (HRV)

In California, a biofeedback system has been developed that helps balance our mind and emotions. Heart rate variability (HRV) is measured for this purpose. HRV measures the frequency of the heart rhythm and its ability to change. Even while resting, spontaneous changes in the time interval between two heartbeats occur.

Stress, anxiety, and negative emotions affect the heart.

Through autonomous physiological regulatory pathways, a healthy organism consistently adjusts the heart rate to current needs. As a rule, physical strain or psychological stress increases the heart rate, which usually returns when relief and relaxation occur.

That shows higher adaptability to stress in greater variability of the heart rate.

On the other hand, under chronic stress, both are more or less restricted and, as a result, reduced because of the constant high tension that is typical of it.

The heart is the core of the success of this method. While in our everyday language it is the seat of our feelings (“we take something to heart,” “we love with the heart,” “our hearts can  break,” and we have “heart ties.”)

From a medical point of view, the heart is nothing more than a pump, a muscular organ that consists of several chambers and is penetrated by an electrical circuit network. The difference between the physical and the emotional definition of the heart is based on the separation between the body and mind.

Negative emotions and stress unbalance the nervous system and cause an irregular heart rhythm. Positive emotions, however, ensure a harmonious heart rhythm.

The goal of this method is reaching a high heart rate variability; this occurs in the body when there is a balance between sympathetic and parasympathetic. This balance (“resonance,” “synchronicity”) leads to well-being, “flow” and creativity. Such a state you can describe as “coherence.”

HRV measurements provide immediate feedback on the current functioning of the heart. With the help of an HRV biofeedback technique, you will (re) know your body and figure out what condition it is in. With a specially developed training program, you can positively influence it.

The training program consists of relaxation exercises and coherence training on the computer.

With this exercise program, you will become healthier, stress-resistant, motivated, and eventually increase your body energy. With specially developed exercises and the targeted use of the biofeedback device, you will gain more strength and joy for everyday life.

We apply this training to sleep disorders, rapid heartbeat, high blood pressure, hypersensitivity, lack of energy, anxiety, burnout, and all stress-related illnesses.
